Abortion - Women's Right to Know

	The state should pass the "Women's Right to Know" bill, mandating a 24-hour waiting period for abortions.
	When it comes to deciding whether a pregnancy should be terminated, there is no role for state government.

	The state should pass legislation banning what is often referred to as "partial birth" abortions.
	The state should not pass legislation in this area.

The Profile of Learning graduation standards

	The Profile of Learning plan should be scrapped.
	The Profile of Learning standards should be kept, but local districts and teachers should be allowed more flexibility to adapt the standards to their own district.
	I favor no substantial changes in the current system.

Stadiums

	There should be no state involvement of any kind in the building of a stadium for the Twins and/or Minnesota Vikings.
	The state should provide financial assistance in the building of new stadium on the basis of perceived economic and/or quality-of-life benefits.
	The state should assist a city that wants to build a stadium for a team, without actually providing a direct subsidy from state taxpayers.

Transportation

	I am against current state funding for light-rail transit and commuter rail. The money should be spent on roads and more buses.
	The state's transportation policy should include a mix of commuter rail, light-rail, buses, and road construction.
	We should develop alternative transit plans including bikeways and making it more attractive to live in the cities and encourage walking.

Taxes

	The next governor should pledge not to raise any taxes.
	The raising of taxes may be necessary to either provide additional services and/or balance the state budget.

Gun Control

	Minnesotans should be allowed to carry a concealed handgun.
	Minnesotans should not be allowed to carry a concealed handgun, beyond what current law allows.

Gay Rights

	The state should allow benefits to the gay partners of its employees.
	The state should not allow benefits to the gay partners of its employees.

Gas Tax

	I oppose any increase in the gasoline tax.
	I support raising the gasoline tax to pay for transportation projects.

School vouchers

	I support the use of vouchers to assist families who send their children to a private school.
	I do not favor the use of vouchers to assist families who send their children to private school.

School Funding

	School districts should be allowed to increase property taxes without requiring voter approval.
	School districts should be required to pass a levy referendum to gain additional revenue from taxes.

Corporate Responsibility

	In addition to federal laws, the state should tighten laws to protect whistleblowers and use the clout of state pension funds to pressure corporations.
	In addition to federal laws and tightened state laws, corporations should be barred from lobbying at the Capitol and be required to answer to a state ethics board.

Marijuana for medical use

	Minnesotans should be allowed to use marijuana for medicinal purposes.
	I do not support the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

Environment

	I oppose allowing more nuclear waste storage at Prairie Island.
	I support storing additional nuclear waste at the Prairie Island plant if it helps solve the waste-storage problem.
