Recently, Apple introduced a QuickTime plug-in for Netscape Navigator 3.0 which allows movies to be embedded directly into Web documents and for movies to "fast-start." The advantage of using this fast-start format is that you don't have to wait for the entire file to download before viewing the movie. Just push the play button (the purple triangle) and in a few moments the track will begin playing. The black progress bar shows how much of the movie has been downloaded. The QuickTime plug-in will play any portion of the movie you have downloaded, so if your playback catches up with your download, simply back up and wait for more of the movie to load.
Note: Your computer must have sound capablities in order for you to hear the movie's audio track. You must have an installed sound card and speakers (or have a Macintosh).
Are you seeing the broken plug-in icon (a broken icon with a puzzle piece on it) instead of the QuickTime movie player? You're either missing the QuickTime plug-in, QuickTime system software, or you are not using Netscape Navigator 3.0. If you have these things, but the movie still does not play, you may need to update both your Quicktime plug-in and system software to the latest versions. For help, see our instructions.
If you do not want to use Netscape Navigator 3.0 and the QuickTime plug-in, you can also download and view the movie using a QuickTime movie player. See our instructions.
