HOUR ONE: HOME SCHOOLING
Home schooling is the fastest growing segment of alternative education. This hour will explore why home schooling is so popular and what changes have occurred over the last decade in this field. We'll also look at home schooling from the perspective of those in public education.
Guests will include Ruth Lindstrom who has home schooled her own children and is on the board of the Minnesota Association of Christian Home Educators. Additional guests are anticipated.
HOUR TWO: COACHES AND PARENTS
As high school athletic programs become more competitive coaches are catching more heat. Often its from parents who want their kid to play more. This hour will look at how the pressure affects coaches, athletes, and parents. The hour will include a report that looks at the importance of high school athletics in a small town.
Guests will include Jim Baker, Lake City athletic director and football coach; Judy Swenson, Rochester parent with several children who've been involved in athletics; and Aynsley Smith, Mayo Clinic sports psychologist.
