St. Paul Mayoral Race
Bob Kessler Kessler has worked for the city of St. Paul since 1973. He took a leave of absence from his position as director of the Department of Licensing, Inspections, and Environmental Protection to run for mayor. Kessler became the first director of that department when it was created under former Mayor Jim Scheibel. He holds degrees from the University of Minnesota and University of Southern California. He received the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for his service in Vietnam and is an avid runner, having run all 19 Twin Cities Marathons.
