Chisago County A painting of Chisago County's second poorfarm in North Branch. It was built to replace the Sunrise poorfarm, which opened in 1871 and operated until 1904, when the county sold the land to a farmer. The painting hangs in the Green Acres nursing home, which replaced the poor farm in the 1950s. MPR Photo/Chris Julin |
