A supporter lights candles outside a public memorial service Tuesday, Oct. 29 2002 in Minneapolis for Wellstone, his wife and the three staff members who died Oct. 25, in a plane crash in Eveleth, Minn. An hour before the service was to begin, an estimated 15,000 people filled the University of Minnesota's Williams Arena for a memorial to be broadcast live on statewide television and radio. Many wore green ribbons and Wellstone stickers and buttons.
