St. Paul, Minn. — Minneapolis peace advocate Peter Thompson returned from Iraq Monday after spending three weeks observing the current state of the county. The former Twin Cities lawyer was part of a 16-member delegation dedicated to informing Iraqi citizens that not all Americans support a military attack against Iraq.

The group visited everything from hospitals to abandoned uranium sites, and met with everyone from struggling Iraqi citizens to Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz.

Thompson says here in Minnesota a few people have questioned his actions. But in Iraq, he says he couldn't have been received more graciously. He spoke with MPR's All Things Considered host Lorna Benson.
