From My Heart

by Max William Beeners

Last night I spoke to Jesus,
Though I couldn't quite understand.
He told me that he needed me,
And soon I would hold his hand.
I told him I wasn't ready to go so soon,
And kept asking him why.
All I remember him saying is,
"You will be an angel in the sky."

Last night I spoke to Jesus,
His voice was nice and calm.
He told me he was getting ready,
And that it wouldn't be that long.
I asked him about my grandpa,
And the ones that went before.
He told me that they were waiting,
and will be there at heaven's door.

Last night I spoke to Jesus,
And now I understand.
Why he said that he needed me,
And I would soon hold his hand.
There is a special task above,
That now I must go complete.
But my friends that's not the end,
Because some day soon we will all meet.
Though I must leave you all behind,
I will be in your hearts everyday.
And when your time has come,
I will be there to help you find the way.

Last night I spoke to Jesus,
And he told me that there will be tears.
Just remember the memories,
Over the past couple years.
My life may have been short,
But filled with so much love.
And often you ask Jesus why,
He takes such young children from us to put up above.
Soon some day you will walk the path and see,
That leaving this earth is all part of a Victory.
And when God needs you above and not on earth anymore,
I will be waiting for you in the gateway of heaven's door.
