LTV Corporation closed its Minnesota iron mine and taconite plant in 2001, putting some 1,300 people out of work. The production plant may come back to life soon with a new operation processing non-ferrous minerals like copper, nickel and others. These trucks belong to Hoover Construction of Virginia, which has been reclaiming the closed iron mining pits. |
