Crookston considers the future of its historic buildings

Most of Crookston's downtown is included in the National Register of Historic Places. It's a fact that complicates the city's efforts to revive its struggling retail businesses. Some people would like to see the buildings restored, especially the Wayne Hotel. From the outside the three-story brick building looks fine, but the roof leaks, there's mold and water damage to the floors and it could cost $4 million to restore the Wayne Hotel.
