This muddy puddle is a pig wallow.  Pigs dig wallows to create a muddy hole where they can roll around, working the mud into their coats.  It's believed the mud helps cool the pigs in hot weather, and helps keep biting insects at bay. (MPR Photo/Bob Kelleher)
