Historic Stillwater prison (5 of 11) |
The twine shop at the prison. The prison shops performed various kinds of manufacturing operations over the years, but none was more profitable or longer-running than the production of binder twine. Workers here are spinning the fiber into rope and twine, which were wound into rolls and balls by hand. Photo courtesy of Minnesota Historical Society |
