A Mighty Good Road (2 of 5) |
Little Rock Around the beginning of the 20th century, probably somewhere in Arkansas, the railroad inspires a song called "The Rock Island Line." At first, it is passed from singer to singer orally. In 1934 at a prison near Little Rock, folklorist John Lomax and folk singer Lead Belly hear and record the song for the first time. |
